Well this is somewhat awkward, not going to lie. But here we go...
I decided to create a blog to record my journey into 2016. Today is the day I literally start fresh by shedding almost everything in my life from 2015. I made the decision quickly, then questioned myself thinking I may have made a mistake. But my gut and intuition told me otherwise, so I am going for it.
Today Herold (my little sausage dog) and I are setting out on a cross country road trip. There will be many stops through God's country to see the land, museums, canyons and even a stop to see some family that I have not seen in quite some time. Although I am a little nervous just because of uncertainty, I know it is going to be amazing. I have set the intention of self discovery, self acceptance, and most of all, self love. My final destination is Gilbert, AZ where my sister lives. She has been so gracious to let me stay with her until I get on my feet out there. Let me tell you, if it were not for my family, I would not be able to make this journey happen, so thank you.
As you can imagine, I have experienced a whirlwind of emotions over the last couple weeks. From grieving a breakup, leaving a job that I have been at for almost five years, saying goodbye to the friends I have made since I have been in Massachusetts and going though all my belongings and purging three quarters of it, if not more. I'd like to say it has been rough, but I am shifting my perspective to "the glass is half full". Of course I am going to experience uncomfortable feelings - one cannon experience growth without it.
So, my intent is to update you throughout this journey. I plan on baring it all - feelings, thoughts, photos, landmarks, etc. - to share this experience with you, but also so that I can look back later with a much clearer head.
Today's plan is to finish packing my car, run a couple errands, clean up a little and then hit the road. My first destination is Niagara Falls, NY, which is about a seven hour drive. I will be staying the night at a hotel and going to see the falls tomorrow morning. Herold is allowed to come to the state park with me, so that makes me happy.
I am sitting here trying to think of how to conclude this post without sounding like a robot or some professional letter, but that is all for now and I will post more soon. Thank you all for your love and support. I am really looking forward to this.
This is amazing! So excited to follow your journey. Praying for you and Herold's highest good and safe travels ❤️
