Utah - Bryce Canyon & Zion National Parks

Monday January 11, 2016
Springdale, UT (1.5 miles from Zion National Park)

Today was... really incredible. I left Grand Junction, CO around 6:30am and arrived to the hotel in Springdale, UT around 6:00pm. It was a long day of driving - about 400+ miles today and rocked out to The Eagles, Pink Floyd, AC/DC and some other classic rock. I stopped a lot; took almost 300 pictures (only 88 below). You can tell from the pictures that Herold is sick of taking them. He either closes his eyes, looks away, or gives the camera the stink eye.

All day I just kept saying, "Is this really happening?", "WOW!", "I can't believe I am actually here!", "This is just unbelievable." - you get it. The entire drive was extraordinarily scenic. I think my favorite moment is when Herold and I snuck past the "closed" section at Bryce Canyon's Bryce Point and were the only ones out there. We took some quite time (not too long because it was cold and windy) and took it all in. I had some time in prayer as well and it was divine. I think the pictures will speak for themselves.

The first part of the morning I saw hundreds, if not thousands, of ravens. I saw a red tailed hawk, big horned sheep, deer, bunnies and prairie dogs. I got some pictures and they are below.

I think the only thing that threw off my day was that my account had some fraud and my debit card was closed. Thank goodness there was a shared credit union branch not too far away and I was able to do a withdrawal. I have two more days left of traveling and then I will be "home" in Arizona.

I am feeling decent today - up and down to be honest. Trying to let go of the thoughts that tie me down and trying to be present as much as possible, which can be easier said than done sometimes. Practicing tuning into my higher self and asking God for direction.

Tomorrow we will be off to Antelope Canyon in Page, AZ, then the Grand Canyon and will be staying the night in Flagstaff or Sedona.

This heart is for my friend Kim, who I think of every time I see hearts.
